Still Nothing!! I just found a complete assembly replacement on Ebay for $95 but that seems a little overkill for a chewed handle. I think I would want to measure the dimensions of the brake handle assembly before biting the bullet on something like that.

I picked up a 2019 Taco in April of this year and within a month our puppy did the same thing. I just ordered a replacement from http://morrisonsauto.com/, found via http://www.car-part.com/ for $45 off of a 2017. There look to still be two 2016's available. Delivery is tomorrow, I will let you know how it turns out.

Edit: Delivered today. Shipping was $20 and received in 2 days.

Also, I have never attempted to replace a full parking brake before, I thought it would be a little easier to just swap the handles. Any advice is very appreciated as there are not a ton of write-ups beyond removing the center console.

Thanks for the info and update! It looks like a perfect replacement. I am just questioning myself whether or not it is going to be worth it to replace the entire assembly just for the handle....Is it possible to take the boot off and somehow just replace the handle mechanism itself? If not, that is going to be quite the production to take the console out and do all of that replacement. Let me know what you find out?

The boot is removable, if pulled inside out over the handle, it slips right off. There doesn't appear to be anything holding the handle on except pressure (no screws, etc) so I imagine it can be removed with some force, but I am not totally sure. The button on my parking brake is also gnarled, so I imagine I need to replace the entire assembly regardless.

This turned out to be much easier than I was expecting. It probably took me an hour and a half from start to finish. I have some prior amateur car stereo experience in my youth, so this was right up my alley. Pardon the aforementioned puppy's hair...as much as I clean, the hair remains o_O

First, I unscrewed the shifter knob and removed both pieces of the center console as outlined a bunch of times already in the forum (thank you!)

Disengage the parking brake. Disconnect the electrical cable going to the ebrake assembly. After this, you can begin unbolting the 12mm bolts that hold in the ebrake assembly. There are 4 and you may need a wobble socket for one of them that is underneath the transmission/shifter assembly.

This will give you the flexibility to unbolt the parking brake cable from the assembly. The nut is only hand tightened and was adjusted down about 12 threads and only really fits snug one way. It is used to adjust the tension on the parking brake and I actually adjusted it a couple of turns tighter on reassembly to match how it felt previously.

You can then remove the transmission line from its holder and begin maneuvering the parking brake assembly out. It helped me to rotate one of the end pieces to get around the transmission cable and pull the whole thing out. Swap the holder for the transmission line onto the new assembly using your trusty 10mm.

Install everything in the reverse order and test before reinstalling the center console.

Were any of you able to actually take off/ replace the e-brake handle? I want to replace my stock one with an aftermarket one but still am not able to remove it even after popping off the center console. Any tips on removing the handle so I can replace it would be appreciated.

I meant on how to take off just the handle cover/ rubber piece, not the entire assembly.

I see. I believe that is likely molded on there and would have to be broken off.
