Wondering if anyone has mounted a fire extinguisher in an access cab. I am looking for a place to drill a hole that won't damage something behind it but strong enough that if in a wreck it doesn't become a missile.

Here you go, quick release fire extinguisher mount, bolts to the bed rails, no drilling needed. It’ll hold a larger extinguisher, just get bigger hose clamps. It’s a little expensive but works perfect.

Relentless bed rail brackets with QuickFists (shovel & axe) Hondo Garage Un-holey vent mount. CH4x4 switch for front camera and 'anytime' rear camera. Billet front mount seat risers. Bed mounted 4 lb fire extinguisher. Viair 88p. 265/75r16 Goodyear Ultra-terrain tires. Custom Sliders.
For the same price as the solution above you can have quick fists..

Super quick fists (need to buy 2), Tacoma bed rail cleats and 3/8 x 16 bolts.

(Personally I'd just buy the bolts at the local hardware as this price seems high.)

This solution assumes you're fine with it mounted in the bed. After re-reading your original post it sounds like you're leaning towards in the cab.
