How much? Maybe I should invest an upgrade from my old Clymer. or is it Haynes? I can't remember.

They were like $170something on ebay. They appear legit as far as I can tell.

Just having torque specs readily available alone will make them worth while. Not to mention all the other information.

Thanks! Still healing. I had surgery in August to correct a diaphragmatic hernia from the accident. I had a 5 inch tear in my diaphragm muscle that my liver was poking though and causing the bottom 3.5cm of my lung to collapse. They repaired it by going in between my ribs, seperating my liver from the diaphragm muscle, pushing my liver back down where it belongs and placing a 7"x3" gortex patch over the tear. 5 days in the hospital is always a good time. But, so far so good. The chest tube site is still sore.

We also figured out why my upper back is always sore. I have a bit of a curve to my spine. I've been doing exercises which have helped a lot. You can see the curve in the X-rays.

The bulge in the red circle is my liver where it doesn't belong.
    CT1.jpg

This is from just after surgery in August. You can see my broken collarbone and rib fractures from last year. You can also see an airpocked in the lower left of the image.

    xr2.jpg

Broken collarbone is a little more clear in this one.
    xr1.jpg
I looked around last year and couldn't find one. In the end I decided I like having a book and don't mind spending some money on them. It would be nice to have both a PDF and a book version.

yeah, t boned me at about 60mph but more like a T but slightly more head on, flew 50 feet, landed on my back and folded in half along the axis of my torso and broke a bunch of stuff. Pretty much back to normal now. Things hurt but not terrible. I have a lot of fitness to get back.
In April 2018 I was about to try to climb 9 CA 14,000 foot peaks in a year. I was in really good shape. I was working out every day. I’d already climbed 6...basically all the easy ones, a really hard one and an easy one but on a harder route.
I’d really like to finish all 15 eventually. It won’t happen in one year but that’s too much anyway. Next year I’d like to climb Shasta in the early spring/winter (I’m 5 for 9 attempts) and a couple others like maybe Split Mountain and Mt Muir and Whitney via the main trail. I climbed Whitney in 2016 taking the Mountaineer’s Route. I’m like 1 for 3 attempts there. I’d go there again for sure.

I moved it to the back.
I had a dual battery set up. Too much weight in the front bent and cracked the core support. My driver side headlight points at the sky and the passenger headlight points at the ground.

Edit: I might put a bigger windshield washer bottle there. My Quart size nalgene washer bottle is too small.

got ya, I was thinking about adding a second battery, but putting it in the bed and leaving the original in place.

Yeah, it's not hard to run the cables.

I used 2 gauge Temco welding cable that I got on Amazon. It turns out it's made in Fremont about a mile from where I work.

I also upgraded my batteries while I was at it. I was running two optimas which both died. At least the starter was under warranty so I'm still running a red top for now. I'll probably get a northstar or something down the road. The Optima blue top I used as a deep cycle was too small for my needs so I replaced it with 230 amp hours of 6v golf cart batteries wired in series to make 12 volts. The golf cart batteries are Arguably way too big for my needs but go big or go home, right? They're heavy but you can abuse the hell out of them. From what I've read AGM marine batteries aren't actually deep cycle and need a very precise charge profile otherwise they get damaged easily. The golf cart batteries don't really care. They were way cheaper but need maintenance and off gas when charged but I can deal with that.

I also upgraded my solar panels. I went from 100 watts to 200 and the panels are smaller than my previous 100 watt panel. I set it up so I can add a 3rd panel. I might get a flexible panel I can plug in but I doubt I'll ever need that.

I'd love to get lithiums but to get 115 usable amp hours out of lithium I'd have to replace my charge controller and spend about $1800 rather than $300. They would be a bit less than half the weight though. Also lithiums don't take charging well at temps below freezing due to increased resistance. I like winter camping. However, I'm sure there's way around that. When the cost of lithiums comes down I might make the jump.
