You did a good job. When rock crawling very few of us carry spares when our tires are >40”s. So it is super common to see stitched sidewalls. We use heavy wire and standard sticky plugs. But it looks like some are starting to use kevlar thread.

A+ on the repair, but you get a solid F for not carrying a full size spare, and wandering off into the woods by yourself. Next time ask yourself if you are prepared to walk back to civilization, or cmp out until help arrives, assuming you have comms. You could also drive out on a wheel if worse came to worst. That should be easy enough to answer the question of do you need a spare or not. FWIW I carry a full size 265/75R16 in the factory location with no trouble at all.

    4 run, 2 don't
Badass repair, but I carry a spare even with E-range tires.

    Happy wheeling :mudding:

You have C rated stock size tires and you don't carry a spare?! :der: I mean... WHY??? To save some weight? :frusty:

    I didn't even know the KO2's came C rated...

The only dudes who have a legitimate claim to not carrying a spare are the guys in rock crawling buggies with E rated 40's, and even then they know they are taking a calculated risk.

I've run E rated tires on my Taco for it's entire life, and I never thought once about removing the spare. If I were going to install an on-board air system and and needed that space, I've move the spare to the bed or do a swing away bumper.

BTW, people put 33's in the stock location with very minimal modification.
