Must be something in the air.
I've been feeling short of breath and light headed today as well.
Pushed the heli out this morning and was breathing a lot harder than I should have been.

A little something every chance we get.
Afternoon folks. Thanks for all the kind words, and the rest of them too! Nothing to do with the lawn or solar power. I thought that I had some version of COPD, or somehow a collapsed lung. Could not get enough deep breaths in; if i laid on my side, could only (literally) hyperventilate. Spent the last couple hours in the recliner this morning.

By the time I got to the Dr, chest/heart hurt, but I thought this was trying to breathe more deeply. Chest felt collapsed, and like it was "full", yet no cough or mucus. Got checked, then X-rayed, then checked again. Next thing I know, nurse is bring in an EKG. They hook me up, and come back for the results - this time the Doctor herself with the PA. EKG indicates AFIB; heart not lungs. They listen to me with the scopes again - "what did I do?" Said you made me lay down for the EKG. "Oh, well we hear things we didn't! Do EKG again". We do. Crowd comes in, and says I am going to a Cardiologist - stat. By the way, some labs too.

So off to San Marcos, I've had two cups of coffee all day. Papers, another EKG (my Dr. didn't get the results sent over in time), but the Cardiologist says not AFIB, but still - what I have is:
Multifocal atrial tachycardia (MAT) is a cardiac arrhythmia caused by multiple sites of competing atrial activity. It is characterized by an irregular atrial rate greater than 100 beats per minute (bpm).

My hearts running too fast from too many signals. I have a stick on monitor, and some Beta Blockers. I will be having an ultra sound. Hoping the beta blocker will start to kick in, because my chest is still aching. So, other than avoiding overly strenuous activity, I will be OK, and my chances of a stroke (which do exist) should be small.

Long day, and no happy hour again.....

Dr. Jani, in San Marcos at a St. Davids office. Good guy. I need to be cautious, take it easy (like I don't!), and should not need to fear those worst case scenarios unless I don't feel better in a couple days.
