    Hi all

I have a ticking sound on cold starts and goes away quickly usually follow by a slight belt squealing.
Any ideas what this might be?

    Anyone have same issue?

    Thank you

Prolly an exhaust leak that heats up and then seals up as it heats up. The belt squeal could be the the belt wearing out, the tension needing to be snugged up, etc.

For the squeal, get a can of belt dressing. Raise the hood, start the truck, spray small amounts near the entrance side of each pulley until you find the one. It will go silent as soon as you spray the entrance side of the pulley. Not the cure, just for diagnosis.

Ticking, as Cruiser said, very likely small exhaust leak. Since your in the 1st gen section, my vote is on cracked manifold! At a 1st gen rally, cracked manifolds are as common as missing teeth at a Dolly Parton concert in "insert state you want to insult here".

Cracked manifold would be my best vote, not seeing and not hearing anything just judging off of history and data here on forum.
