Yeah, because it is coming from the rear of the truck and only manifests itself when the brakes are applied.

Two of my buddies and I all had issues with our rear brakes squeaking, no squealing, but just a short strange sounds when the brake pedal was applied. For me it was generally at low speeds but for the other two guys there didn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it. I learned to live with it but my one friend had his brakes done and it still continued so he took it to the dealership, they had no clue what was causing and said it was strange that it still continues even with new pads and drums.

When it was time for me to replace my rear pads I watched the video below. I didn't notice him mentioning it but you will notice at the 16:40 mark he has applied white grease (I used Lithium grease I believe) to 3 points. Once I put everything back together the squeak is gone, same drums but new pads. Like I mentioned my friend replaced his drums and pads and the squeal persisted. Kind of a pain because you need to take everything apart to check it but it might save you some cash. Hope this helps.

Obviously, all Tacomas use regular/87 (unless the supercharger is installed?)

I always put regular in my truck, except for that one time I wasn’t paying attention and accidentally put premium in it. I do not recall seeing an increase in performance or MPG.

By comparison, my dad put regular from a no-name gas station in our then-new 2000 GMC Safari in about November 2000 and the check engine light came on a short time later. It ended up going out on its own.

Has anyone put cheapo gas their Tacoma and experienced any issues?

Never figured out why cheap gas made the check engine light come on in my parents’ 2000 GMC van.

I use COSTCO and cash only gas. I‘ve played with high test gas but didn’t notice any difference.

Also does the supercharger make premium mandatory?

I am a rabid fan of 1st Gen Tacos, but I would not want a daily driver that requires premium!

    My 4-banger 5-lug 2nd Gen’s MPG is atrocious; 16-18 MPG typically and maybe 19-20 if I’m I’m lucky!

I have a 96 2.7 and use all brands of gas but have found that gas that use alcohol seems to give me less power and have read that it may create lack of lubrication to the valve guides especially, I haven't seen this happen but I don't use gas with alcohol in it after reading about this.

Don't understand why the CEL would come on with cheep gas on a 2000 GMC. Even though the CEL went out, a code is still stored with OBD2 systems. Go to one of the auto parts stores and have them do a scan for the stored OBD CEL codes. That will tell you if it is related to the gas, at least.
Almost all of the major auto manufacturers (including Toyota) recommend "Top Tier" gas for their vehicles. Top Tier is a detergent and additive (minimum) package for gasoline. Some stations (ie: Chevron, and a few others) have a better additive package than the Top Tier minimum. A quick Google search will tell you what stations in your area carry Top Tier gas.

You never know what you’re going to encounter during a Doordash run, and this is quite possibly the steepest goddamn driveway I’ve ever encountered!

Why do fast food restaurant employees seem to have such a problem when people fill up large cups (like mine, pictured below) with ice and water?!?!

It’s not I’m trying to pour soda or iced tea and get out of paying for it!
