Kansas City Tacoma Crew - 816/913

I bought these a few weeks back to put on my next Taco. Hopefully it will be here first of the year. They are Achilles Desert Hawk xmt and have a few long term positive reviews. I love the "I just bought these and drove home and they're so awesome!" tire reviews. Let me know when they have about 15K on them.

 

I've got an 03 with 263k. It's not super quiet in the cabin but it doesn't bother me much. In about a year and a half I should be getting an 11th gen if all goes to plan. I've maimed this poor thing; will actually take my next one seriously in the looks department, lol.

 

my old corolla only has 131k and some very serious in-town wear and tear over 2+ decades, also has some really bad corrosion on various body panels that just got out of hand, 1/5 of the driver door has been eaten but the heater still works well!
and now i went to get the wheels aligned at the tire place and they cannot do the rears since there is a fuel leak
hoping it is just the fuel filler neck tube which looks to be an easy fix DIY, sure the heck do not want to figure out how to drop the tank and see what lurks, mechanic said $200 to drop and inspect and depending on what it is could very well cost north of $500
not sure the old car is worth that much lol
i am waiting to see how much the new hatchbacks will come down in used price over the next few years and go from there for replacement
if a fire starts i need to be ready to jump ship and run like hell
i should take a picture of what it looks like and feel some mid west wrath

 

In town will do it, lol. I've had lots of little issues pop up with mine, but nothing ever serious or terribly expensive as long as I did it myself. As of now, I have some electrical shorts in the center console and practically useless rear struts. I've also needed a clockspring for my driver's side airbag the entire time I've owned this car, buuuuut. I'm sure the hatchbacks will come down in price significantly over the next couple of years.

I think mine has one or two of those as well!

it was involved in a side-swiping incident in '01 or '02 by an out-of-town Denver driver about a mile from home on the way to the store.
the body shop that replaced the skin on the driver door apparently did not re-rustproof it, its the only explanation i have other than my negligence
my Tacoma's TLC has taken up much of my energy!

KANSAS CITY, MO — The president of Applebee’s International, Inc. announced Tuesday that the family restaurant chain would be declaring Chapter 11 bankruptcy next week, after offering military service members and veterans free alcohol for Veterans Day.

The promotion resulted in a massive single day loss of nearly $6 billion.


“I just wanted to do something for the troops,” said Michael Archer, Applebee’s president, in a press conference. “I figured they would come in, be respectful, and have a drink or two. It’s not like people go to Applebee’s to drink.”

Soon after the deal was announced, word of free alcohol spread across social media. Army Brig. Gen. Robert James announced the deal on Twitter, along with the hashtag #CrunkAtApplebees. The tag began trending quickly, after Pentagon spokesman George Little tweeted, “Oh fuck yeah! #CrunkAtApplebees tonight bitches. Join me and Chuckie H.!”

“I knew this might be a problem right after the east coast locations opened,” Archer said.“I got a call from the Norfolk VA regional manager who said all our restaurants were packed to capacity with lines out the door.”

One Applebee’s reported the captain of the USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) brought his entire crew to the restaurant, with 3000 sailors fighting for just 100 seats.
