5spd Rebuild or JDM used?

    My trans is tired, 3rd gear grinds and pops out, makes some funny sounds as well. No idea the mileage on it, truck came with an incorrect inst. cluster (4cyl.) so cannot trust the mileage on it.

    JDM is appealing for the simplicity of a swap, but not cheap.

    Local boneyard is an option as well.

    I don't have the skills nor tools to rebuild myself so would need to find a local shop, recommendations would be appreciated...
    or if someone on here was willing and able to do the job? I can supply and open beers like a pro!

    Any input would be much appreciated !

    I like the boneyard option. Especially if it means you can do the job yourself.
