yeah understandable. the places here have become unreliable. I have a walkin cooler and everything to cut and process so it does take some time but its what we do. Ive been on that side where its easier to drop off and not worry about it. Im not bagging on anyone for doing it, it just for my area its better for us to do it ourselves.

Yeah I definitely agree that places are shitty. The place I used before compared to where I go now is like night and day. I just feel these people are way more trustworthy and make sure you get everything the right way and packaged to keep well. The jerky is actually very good which is awesome. They do the slim Jim style but also they do like big thick strips that are really pliable and not dried out at all. It is almost like thick stir fry meat but way better. Their bologna is really good and has 3 flavors which is cool too. I can’t wait to start doing my own again, but until then I will just keep these guys on speed dial! Lol!

yeah when i was in MD I had one guy that was a rip off and I told everyone I knew he was a rip off. Then I found a OLD guy that was very reliable. I used him till we moved here to Idaho, I used one in town close to me but they screwed up and dropped a huge metal sharpie in the grinder and we lost basically all of the ground. Then after a time of them not giving all of my cuts of meat and them not having space to do it I just opted to do it myself.

Yeah I can’t blame ya for that! Sharpies are good for some things but eating is not one of them!

In the past l always cut up my own deer. I grind my own burger and vacuum pack everything. This year was different. When I got my buck last week Monday I called the taxidermist about mounting the head he said I can bring in the whole deer and he would cape it. So I did that and on the way home I dropped the rest of the deer at local meat market. Next day I had my backstraps, roast and steaks all vacuum packed. I told them just put the trimmings in a bag and I clean it up and grind into burger.
Wednesday I got a call, my wieners and brats were done.

    Well today was a flop.
All my drinks froze and I think my pee did too..lol
Had to move 3 times cause the wind changed.
    Didn’t see anything.
    Well I saw one crow.
Trying to figure out the temp between the low ground and wind I think it was around 5°.
My phone was in my front chest pocket of my orange vest and it stopped working.
Had to put it in my Alaskan style mittens so it would work.
Never have I been in that cold a weather to hunt.
But it is what it is.
On a great note my boy got his.
He always had a dream of a log cabin and land to hunt on.
2 weeks ago he moved into a log cabin home with a little land.
This morning he got his buck on his land.
    Dreams do come true.
    So very proud of him.

Around here any dear you get is an accomplishment.

I have two more times in firearm season
And one more time in expanded archery
As long as the weather holds.

So lucky my health is allowing me to do this.

    So,,, we try again...
    That’s what it’s all about......
