Looking at purchasing 17x8.5 wheels with an offset of -12. I have stock suspension with Firestone AT 266/65/17 at the moment.
Question is does anyone have a similar wheel like this ? And does it require some minor trimming?

Also would I require longer lug nuts? If so what would you be using?

You won’t rub other than maybe on fender flares/mud flaps.

My SR had 265s before my 285s on stock suspension - no rubbing.

Did you require longer lugs for your -12 wheels?

Which wheels are you getting? SCS uses different lugs.

Here’s my 2017 with stock suspension, 265/65/17 KO2’s, and SCS Ray 10’s at -10 offset.

Those are Weathertech mud flaps. No rubbing.

I have 17x9 -12 offset and they rubbed like a bitch with the OEM mudflaps on. I believe even with them off I rubbed turning hard/reversing

    EDIT: mine are 265/70/17, nvm.

Yep, I originally had 265/70/17 and rubbed on the OEM and Weathertech flaps, but went back to 265/65/17. No issues at the smaller size.

I wanted to keep the flaps and protection. 265/70/17 typically works without front flaps.

285s stock suspension. Yes, CMC and the works, but my point is - you shouldn’t have any with 265s if the little work I’ve done can result in very little rub from a tire an inch taller and wider.

I’ll find an old pic of my 265s on -6 16x8 Steelies

I currently have a 2.5" lift and 285/75/16 tires. Would I be able to fit SCS -12mm offset wheels on my truck?

This was before I saw your post. lol. I guess you answer my question. I'm surprise your able to fit that combo on stock suspension with little rubbing... I already rubbed a tiny bit when I went off roading last time.

Because a lift doesn’t necessarily provide clearance other than when on road when the suspension isn’t cycling fully.

Like I said - CMC, massaging fender liners in, hammered pinch weld, etc. have you done this? If no, you’ll always have rubbing if you wheel decently hard without doing the above - unless you push your wheel forward via LCA cams and then compensate with high caster UCA (which I’ve yet to do).

Once level my front end and grab some new UCA’s and push my wheel forward, I’ll be 100% rub free on ~1.5” of lift upfront only.

I haven't done none of the above other than just slapping the suspension together and tires. I got the camburg UCA also. Now I have something to do on my Tacoma to piss off the wife again.
