Hi Taco world....this is my first time here.

    I'm out of ideas...2008 Tacoma TRD Sport - 104K

Getting a humming in front end (or so it seems)...at 30mph....then again at 40mph....then again at 50 - 55mph. I found a slightly loose wheel bearing on passenger front and i felt it in the spring a bit as I held it and spun the wheel.
I ended up replacing both complete front hub assemblies. Noise still there.
I checked the CV shafts and spun both wheels again. Seemed to feel a bit of something on drivers front when I spun the wheel with one hand and felt the diff where the shaft goes into with th other hand. There was also some up and down play on the inner cv joint where it goes into the diff. So I replaced the needle bearing the the inner cv shaft rides on in the diff. Changed the fluid and seal obviously. Took it out.....STILL there. I changed the rear diff fluid and the transfer case fluid....STILL there.
In the air, both front wheels spin perfectly smooth. I don't know what else it could be. Thoughts???

Join the club, man. I’ve had a humming/wobbling noise at 35mph+ that I thought was a wheel bearing. Replaced the wheel bearing and the noise is still there. I’m going on 4 years now with the noise and can’t seem to figure out what it is. Rotated and balanced tires numerous times. Truck drives fine, not shaking or anything. If you think or find anything out,let me know. Otherwise I just figured it’s not urgent since I’m going on 4 years of it and truck still drives fine.

Are you running stock wheels and tires? I ran some aftermarket wheels with 33’s and they made a noise at certain speeds that sounded like a wheel bearing. Noise gone after wheel/tire change.
