    I see & hear mixed results with folks who just scuff the chrome (assuming that is what you're implying here). I'd rather just start with a new bare surface. To each their own.

    There's a product called DTM (stands for Direct To Metal). DTM is an epoxy primer that uses a catalyst. Scuff your chrome plastic grille with steel wool and spray it with DTM. DTM comes with its mixing instructions. DTM is sprayed out of a regular gun. It will not chip or peel. Once your part is primed treat it as you would any paint job. DTM will far outlast the paint you put on top of it.
