Hey guys, I’ve been looking at multiple different platforms for making a camping platform and had a random shower thought. Has anyone used HDPE or similar plastic sheeting to make their platform. I know it would be much more expensive that way, but could virtually be indestructible. Does anyone know how it’s weight would compare to plain ole wooden 4x8 sheets? Lighter or heavier?

I’ve thought about this as well, and I’d be curious to see what thickness would be appropriate. I currently have 1/2” plywood with outdoor carpeting covering it and it’s fine, but I’ve noticed between the canopy leaks at the front corners and condensation, it gets a little damp at times. I’m thinking that the plastic would last forever, but curious about the cost and weight.
