My nephew keeps bringing that up. I have to admit, I’m kinda interested, they’ve been around since I was a kid. Nice to see them still in the game.

I just cleaned up my truck. Washed with Adams, clayed, sealed with Wolfgang and put a few coats of Souveran on over the course of a few days with an orbital. 303 on everything else. Shines up really nice and lasts a few months. Although, I’m really contemplating swapping to a ceramic wax. I like the mall crawler look, truck sees the dirt about once a week. My nephew and I are dueling on whose truck shines the most. I get goofed on for using boutique products. Thoughts?

I don't think you can go wrong either way, a ceramic (sio2) spray would certainly be quicker to apply but I can't say it'd be any better. I was just as happy with WG deep gloss paint sealant as the ceramic products I've used.

Looks would be subjective and it sounds like you're already using products that look real good. Self cleaning might be slightly better with sio2, but at that point go consumer coating.

I would hit a Autozone or something similar. They should have automotive tape over by the paint.

Seems like the paste stays on the paint longest but I use liquid because you can get it on black plastic and it does not leave a stain.

Idk how I always forget how good Jescar powerlock + is. I get hung up on the sio2 and spray sealants. This was over the summer after a decon and M105 and M205 polish job on a neglected 95 Chevy pickup.
I really should use and recommend this more. I did the job in June and it's still as good as day 1 on a rarely driven but outdoor stored truck.
First 2 pics show water sheeting. 3rd is a 4 month follow up pic. Last 2 are 50/50 of the roof

I love powerlock. Out here in cali where it doesn't rain much but the sun is brutal I can easily get 8 months of insane beading out of powerlock on vehicles that are stored outside all day. (As long as they are not taken through the harsh auto car washes). It still works 12 months in but it's definitely not as strong and it doesn't clean as easily. Applying it once a year works great, and honestly it adds a decent amount of gloss for how long it lasts.

The gloss is better than most people give it credit for. Especially on medium colors like gray, green, blue, silver. Some top with a wax for more gloss and depth, collinite 845 is the popular topper wax, it also looks good and lasts, but only a month or so. The powerlock is a legit 6-9 month sealant, up there with the big boys and its not talked about enough, including by me. I'm gonna use it more. I got lazy with carpro reload and hydro2 + beadmaker. The spray ons are so easy but this is probably more worth the time.

I can't say for sure cuz I end up apply them more often than they reach failure. My two favorites are carpro reload = 6 months on my tundra but it wasnt done yet. and hydro2=8 months on my moms car that was topped with beadmaker, but beadmaker lasts maybe a month (just applied for gloss and slickness IMO).
Some sio2 claim up to a year and I'd believe it for a garaged daily driver.
Prep is key for sio2 or any sealant. At the least a thorough wash and clay bar/mit before applying makes it look better and last longer because it bonds better to the paint. Polishing may help it last longer

It's the first ceramic coating I would recommend. For the money you wont get any better. Even for twice the cost you may not do better IMO except maybe 22ple insanity. But CQ 3.0 is a bargain, not bad to install and is proven to be very very good. I just got 50ml from autogeek for around $55 with the sales going on.

I have the previous version on my truck now for over a year. Still heading well even though it is parked outside 24/7
