I got this transfer case bolt in a difficult space that my 24 mm socket will not fully fit because the edges of the socket is too thick. Any recommendations on what tools to use to remove it? Thank you all. i have attached some photos. IMG_20191116_140628.jpg

You will probably have to get a thin wall socket. Yes, they actually make those.

It’s faster to take a cheap 24mm and sand the walls down on a bench grinder if you have one, or chuck it in a drill and hit it with a file or sandpaper.

A machine shop can run it (socket) on a lathe and have it thinned in 10 seconds.

You using a 3/8 drive? Usually thinner than 1/2 drive sockets. A wobbler might get it.

Thank you all for the replies. I end of getting a thin wall 1/2 in drive 24mm socket which i never knew they made. Thank Rahl. If that doesnt work ill get a 1/2 drive thin wall. What is a wobbler?

We simply use 1.5 foot extension and a 24mm socket.
