I changed my rims and left the TPMS sensors in my stock wheels, I've driven about 100 miles on the new tires/rims and no warning light yet. Not complaining just wondering what the normal is. I know when I let the air out of my tires the light has come on in the past and turns off again after I refill them so I know the system is working . Thanks IMG_2627.jpg

Mine took a little while, cant remember the exact time. If your tires are close enough to where you park your truck it'll pick up the connection. I would drive mine and after say 20 miles or so the light would come on. After a month or so, the light stayed on continuously.

I had mine come on when I started on a cold morning. I keep my tires inflated to spec, and they initially were about 6lbs low and the warning came on all four tires. After driving awhile, the pressures came up 3 or 4 lbs, and lights went out. BLUF, cold temps can affect the readings initially, but normalize after driving awhile.

There’s a difference in a low reading and missing tpms sensors. A low reading show reflect nearly immediately. Missing sensors take a significant amount of time and it usually needs to be continuous time.

Gotcha. I am referring to the OP's post of after they're removed how long it takes.

This weekend I put my snow wheel set on, TPMS indicator came on after about 20 miles of highway driving. Like @TBLTravy mentioned, if you are doing short trips and getting back to your garage or wherever the other wheels are, this could explain the missing expected indicator.

I drive around all winter without my sensors. Light only comes on after 30 min of continuous driving- which for me is usually heading out of town on a trip. Light flashes for 10 min or so then stays on. It must read the sensors on the garage at home because light goes off when it’s parked in the driveway.
