    4 run, 2 don't
See, I'm way ahead of most cali drivers; I used the 1-state specific "winter blend" air in my tires, and I've got the hybrid, oscillating internal, planetary drier system which reduces fluid evaporation down to .001 microns every 20 nanoseconds, which also increases my brake light brightness from the hours of 2 to 4am.

i do have one very interesting observation/finding that just occurred to me regarding this ongoing frame mod

there were a couple of spots i had it zinc phosphate etched and a couple good coats of extreme primer that i wanted to redo
so I took the glass bead media blaster gun to it and it took a bit more of effort to remove it from the frame
than the junk Tacoma paint that just flew off with the blaster gun even in parts that had no noticeable crusty creep behind it

    what does this tell you?

Well the Toyota paint is also 20+ years old. No paint sticks forever

A plating like galvanisation or buckle boron would hold up a very long time. Paint will eventually fail.

Not to throw rocks at glass houses, but I've seen a couple of new sales lost by all of the carrying on in the 3rd gen section. Actually another buyer (my coworker) is in the process of making a decision right now. He visited the 3rd gen section and freaked out..

Does it surprise you? 3rd gens are fine trucks. But their damn price makes people think they’re suppose to be perfect

Starting a thread for that stuff would be best for all parties involved. I think it would be the considerate thing for you to do

I've come across 2nd gens with such horrible clear coat damage/rust of the roof and hood but yet my 2002 040 (White) is still fine. I don't even wax or wash it as much as it deserves - hell, last time I washed it (before the quick rinse the other day) was at least 6+ weeks ago. Seems like and not just Toyota, paint just doesn't hold up as well as it should. Especially forest green.
