I’ve searched a bit and people seem to think it’s a typo, but according to their website, BFG offers a KO2 in 275/70R16. This would give me a true 32” not 31.5”, but what I really want is the extra width. I would be moving up to a 16X8 wheel and I think another half inch of tire width with an extra half inch of wheel width would just look better. Just for extra info, wheel would be 0 offset. Since this doesn’t appear to be a very popular size I was wondering if anyone has any first hand experience with this setup and if there were any rubbing problems on stock sport suspension. At most I would plan to lift the front maybe 1” with Bilsteins. I’m just trying to stay away from the lift snowball effect. I just don’t have the budget for all that. I’d rather save up a little and spend $2000 on regear than the same on a lift. I plan to do things in stages if possible. Wheels and tires first, just because I’m tired of driving “grandpa’s truck”. I’ll also be trying to rid the truck of other chrome along the way. Then gears. Then maybe when I’m ready to replace the tires and move up to 33s a lift, UCAs, BMC, custom drive shaft, etc.

Dont know about rubbing and have no experience with this size, but from bfg's site this tire is only 31 tall.Screenshot_20191120-205116.jpg

I guess the joke is on me. I was looking at 275/70R17. That would give me the numbers I was looking for, but I was planning on a 16” wheel.

So then you run a 285/75/16 and yes you can count on it rubbing

Here's mine with 285/70R16 Nitto Trail Grapplers. 31.8 inches tall by 11.5 inches wide. They shouldn't rub at all with 0 offset, 16x8 wheels. Look great too, if you want an MT. If you're going with an all terrain I think that 275 is the next best option though.IMG_20190921_105711.jpg IMG_20181027_110021.jpg IMG_20181125_143219.jpg

Ha! Yeah, that’s just a little bigger. I was hoping to get a little more width. Seems all the 17” wheels bump up to 9” width. Guess I’ll stick with 265/75R16 on 16X8 wheel for now.

Those look awesome. 99% of my driving is on road, though. I’m pretty honest about how much I go off road. I took my Jeep off quite a bit, but this truck won’t see near that much. All that said I’ll stick with an A/T. Thinking KO2 with white letters out on black Methods will look pretty good on my Barcelona Red.

I am looking at the similar issue. I took a different approach.

I went searching in junk yards for 17 x 7.5 wheels from a 2nd gen Tacoma. Luckily, and not surprisingly, they have the same offset as the stock 16 inch rims. I found 5 of the alloy 5 spoke rims for $350, but they charged me $20 each for center cap (I only got 4). So 5 rims for $430. I plan to put on BFG T/A K02 275/70R17. 32.2 inch.

I have a 2" lift with OME BP51Bs and Built Right UCAs. So here is the standard question.... Will it rub? I do not want to do a CMC or rip out fender well liners. Lose or modify the mud flaps...things are a PITA when I off-road anyway...so I am likely OK with that option.

Will it fit the spare storage on a 2015 Tacoma DC TRD O/R (short bed)?

When I put the lift kit on, a weight on the inside of the 16" rims rubbed on the lower. They put on 1.25" spacers and rub be gone. Hmm, with 17 inch rims it would not rub. So a follow up question is leave the spacers on to avoid rubbing the new set up on the frame or wheel wells?

    Thanks.

So, you must have inherited your Grandpa's almost new truck, and rather than showing some appreciation, leaving it like he had it, you want to start making changes to it.

That is disgusting. You should be ashamed of yourself.:rofl::rofl:

You should look at SCS wheels! I love mine, and just threw white letter all terrains on them. I wouldn't buy any other wheel now for a Tacoma, and I had Methods on my Tundra. The Methods are great wheels, but some of those SCS wheels look really cool! Only cons is they're a tad more expensive and a decent bit harder to get since they're always scooped up as soon as they're available.
