    Hey guys,

    I recently bought a 2013 tacoma with a 4 cylinder and 4WD that came with a Rancho suspension system. It lifted the truck about 2.5 inches. I really don't like the added height and they were really made for a V6 so the front end is a little higher than the back. I was wondering if y'all know of a suspension system that is similar to stock that I could replace them with.

    Thanks

    There's a lot of guys lifting their brand new 3rd gen Tacomas. The OEM 3rd gen strut and shocks fit the 2nd gen trucks and if you're lucky, you can find the takeoffs for pennies on the dollar. I put nearly new 2018 TRD Sport struts and shocks on my wife's 2006 for around $100. You would need to pull the Rancho block or however it's lifted in the rear and you would get a little lift from the 3rd gen front struts as the 3rd gens run a slightly taller ride height (especially with your 4 cylinder) but that would be a cheap option for you that we're running and are happy with.

    Otherwise, just go with a Bilstein 5100 setup and run the front at 0 lift.

    The engines are the same weight.
    Aluminum V6 or Iron I4.

    The problem is that the previous owner installed a "bro" lift, the effect of which is to make the truck look like a dog dragging its ass on the carpet.

    Do what above guy said; get some new-ish factory parts. Take all the aftermarket crap off and trash bin it.

    And you'll need an alignment.

    Also, contrary to what that guy above suggested, Tacoma does NOT have struts.

    Doesn't have struts? What's the stock front coil spring/shock assembly called then? And you better not say coilovers.

    Because we're communicating in text, I can't read your inflections to tell if you're trying to be funny or not.
    So let me just ask you this (with complete sincerity and no implications intended);
    Do you know what is the difference between coil-over shocks and struts?
