I have no clue bc I don't even know what FLAC files are, I apologize. feel free to look up model and check. I just hook up my pixel 2xl and use Spotify 90% of the time and my music app the other 10 when I'm out with no service.

FLAC is supposedly better than MP3 or WMA files, but much larger file size due to no compression (or something like that)
not real sure about associated apple files

    and its FREE lol
    free lossless audio codec
for audiophiles and such i guess

why or how is it hidden?

    nice and cozy looking interior!
    with 4 cup holders!!!!

I usually try to stay with Top brands, but they have sold over 660 of them and the reviews were good. I was pleasantly surprised with the punch this added to my system. For $86 it is a bargain and it fits easily under the seat with room to spare.

On the home screen, the clock is huge and fills up most of the screen. On the source screens, the clock is reduced to the little font on the top of the screen that you see in my pic but is still readable. My only complaint is the clock display could be larger on the source screens. Maybe they will do a firmware update to fix this.

OEM clock is always behind the steering wheel and wiper arm

Nothing fancy here. My requirements were bluetooth connectivity and that was about it.

I have the Sony XAV-AX1000 in my 2003. Same review - overall good, but in bright daylight it is hard to see the screen due to seeing reflections of my passenger seat on the screen. The best part is that with two taps, you can fully shut off the screen and have no flashy bullshit lights like most head units sold the past 10+ years.

Don't hold your breath. Like most automotive things, there are minimal if any updates once they hit the market.

is that because of the change of steering wheel design on the 1st gen (i have not ever had this problem myself that i recall other than the steering wheel being tilted up too far!)
or maybe it is because of height (taller or shorter?)

For my seat position it's hidden. Now that I can see the clock on the head unit I might change the oem clock to a volt meter
