What kind of bike rack? Gotta link? We have the same color truck mines an Sr and had a matching MX topper too

 

My Dad and I did it in the driveway. Spent a couple days doing it and took our time. For sure an extra set of hands made a difference, but it we both learned a lot. Highly recommend doing it yourself if you can.

 

Fab’d up a screen for the shell. Since ARE doesn’t offer the pop up/slider combo on the short beds I needed something to keep the dogs in and provide airflow.

what did you use to make the screen?

 

1/16” thick aluminum. Would’ve been nice to get some steel, but she won’t rust and she was easy to work with some tin snips and a file compared to a grinder.

That pic scares me. I had a friend get crushed under a car on cinder blocks on their side. They aren't designed to hold weight that way. I see you've got the front tires chocked, but one bump from the rear or front and those blocks are giving out....

It's also supported by a floor jack. That's what I do, floor jack for support and jack stands for backup. I'll even put the wheels under it if that's feasible. I also have a concrete driveway, that helps.

 

yea I see that and the jack stands under the rear, but if they replaced the rear springs, that won't help

 

To each his own, we felt safe doing what we needed to with it up like that, we were never really under the car. Kinda working at it from the side. Sorry to hear about your friend
