DSLR use a mirror on a flap. When a photo is taken. That mirror moves down to overlay the image. Then back up to reset. It covers the sensor when being used.

Mirrorless Is a slightly different concept. Theres no mirror. The sensor is exposed directly to the lens and therefore has less moving parts and no bracketing when taking pictures. The benefit is faster pictures, better focus, less moving parts, and the ability to have less noise in a photo because the mirror that isnt there doesnt have to be cleaned or get in the way

I’ve been a photographer for 7.5 years for whatever that’s worth and this camera is more than enough for any beginner to learn on for a long long time.

DSLRs are, for the most part, the past. Especially beginner level consumer ones.

This will be smaller and easier to carry around. Get something like this used to start and when your skill is beyond the camera you’ll know more of what to buy for your specific developed skill set and needs. But this or something like it will easily last you for years to come.
