Love my 2019 But man the rear driver side fender flare has been driving me nuts.

after I took delivery of my truck a few months ago I noticed the adhesive was peeling away from the fender flare. I took it to service and they fixed it and then it happened again in the same spot.

I took it back again and they replaced the adhesive a 2rd time and now this is happening AGAIN. It looks like it’s starting to peel away again in about 5 different spots.

Does anyone have any ideas how to address this because I’m not taking it back to service for a 3rd time to just have it peel away again.

This is the best it’s been so maybe I should just live with it but idk. Do they even need the adhesive on there? Arnt they held in by clips? Any input would be appreciated.

I never seen this before. I believe the fender is also held by clips. Best advise I can provide you is to buy a tube of black silicone, problem solved!

If you take it off Yourself and it’s held on by double side tape and that is failing then you could try some adhesive promoter wipes before you install it I don’t have the part numbers for it but can get it tomorrow.

I had to replace my flare, and I would recommend that when you do it:

    1. buy another set of clips - they break
    2. buy the toyota double sided tape - it comes in 3 separate pieces, and part numbers. It is worth the $$, because it's the right size, and the adhesive is much stronger.

I used 3M originally swapped mine, and it pulled off of the fender in 2 weeks, so I had to do it twice.

*yes I used adhesion promoter, as well as cleaned and prepped the surface.

Here are the part numbers (for left):

75698-04030: Wheel Opening Molding Pad, LEFT
75697-04050: Wheel Opening Molding Pad, LEFT
75696-04050: Wheel Opening Molding Pad, LEFT

Is it possible the flare has a molding defect? Maybe 3rd times a charm, and politely demand the flare & clips be replaced.

I have a few pieces peeling away but I think it’s the little black trim that goes on the lower rear quarter and just in front of the rear tires.

if I was to guess I’d say it’s a problem with proper prep work.

Press hard on the flare in the affected area. The clip did not engage or broken. Check the clip from under the th truck
