I can now attest that vortex wings are what they are promised to be.

Ended up soaking them a basic salt/sugar brine for about 4 hours while we went to a friend's place to watch the Seahawks game this morning. When we got home I pulled them out and rinsed, patted dry and then tossed them with some corn starch and a simple all purpose rub that came with my pit barrel. Set them out on a baking pan in the fridge to dry for a couple hours while I had to do some work on the truck. Put the wings on with the vortex with a chunk of hickory and flipped at about 20 min. Checked them again 10 min later and they were plenty hot so I pulled them. Since our friend's place is right down the street from a BWW we grabbed some parmesan garlic for the wife and I did buffalo and butter for myself. The buffalo wings were great, hers were ok but I wasn't too impressed with BWW bottled sauce, definitely not the same. Only thing I would do different is leave them on a few more minutes to crisp the skin more but otherwise I'm very happy with the results.

I forgot to take any pictures before the sauce and before we ate because I was hungry but these are the final product of what's left for lunch tomorrow.

    Wouldn't you like to know!
Grilled a couple prime strips the other night, they came out pretty delicious. Just used some George's seasoning and pepper.

Use Baking Powder vice corn starch next time! Crispiest wings!

Love the BWW Parm Garlic too! Only tried it in house and not bottled though.

Tossed this guy on last night around 21:00 with some LumberJack Comp Blend in the tube and in the hopper. Thanks again @itzyoboipaul .

And this is the only pic... I let it ride sealed up all night. Wrapped in Peach Paper this am before work. Waiting for it to hit temp then I'll run home and cooler it up. and then get pics... :D

    yea came out reallly good.

i used hickory and really dig the subtle smoke it gives. I tend to use mesquite a lot and it can get overbearing quick.

gotta have a soft hand with the mesquite. I've gone off the deep end before with it a few times.
