My shin issues are with the lower dash and the high clutch. I lowered the clutch pedal as much as possible. If the steering wheel could extend more, I’d be able to sit back further. But I bump my shin on the dash all the time.

Do you guys do a running leap to get into your truck? How do you hit your leg so hard to cause lacerations?

I'm 6' and the truck is about 1.5" higher than stock. I bang my right shin on the dash all the time when I go to get in. Guess I need those sliders after all...

If you can’t get in the truck you shouldn’t own the truck.

Lol I find this thread pretty funny. The only times I bash shins is jumping into a customer's vehicle to fast. Slow down killer!

Steps or sliders don't really help getting into this truck FYI.

It’s possible. Before the Tacoma, I had a full size truck in which it never happened.
With the Tacoma, 4 shin whacks for me in the first year.
    None in the second year.

6'4" here. My floor board of the truck is about 30" the top plate of the sliders well over my knee and I've never hit my head, knees, most of all my shins .

Omg, they suck so bad. I swear, last time I did that I almost went and got a wrench to take them off and toss them out by the garbage cans

I am so confused, I went out into the garage and tried to replicate this issue but couldn't see how it is done.. shin hitting below the steering wheel? They make this awesome adjustment for the seat that moves it back so that your knees aren't on the dashboard in the first place you know... I really think there needs to be a video of how this is occurring.. Maybe it is one of those short people problems my wife tells me about..

I was indoctrinated into this self inflicted pain, when the height challenged service technician failed to return the seat in the way it was found. Lesson learned.
