I bought a salvaged 2013 tacoma last winter as a project vehicle. I've got a gazillion other projects right now, but once the weather warms up a little I'd like to paint my truck. I realize that even putting the word "Paint" and "tacoma" In the same sentence is sacrilege, but let me explain. First off, insurance companies dont salvage a 4wd truck with very few miles for no reason. I had to replace most of the front end and the front passenger door. On top of that, the hood is irreparably damaged. I'm putting in my order for an RK sport hood (I'll let everyone know how it works out). Anyway, it was in a pretty severe front end collision. With all of that said, cosmetically it is in decent shape, but not great. I've painted some vehicles in the past, so I'm familiar with how much work it will be. Im not looking for a show truck. I just dont want it to look like a beater. My whole point to this is that I'd like ideas on what color to paint it. Something very unique. I like the 3rd gen colors that came out recently, but I dont want to copy them.
I dont have any newer pictures than this. This was when I first got it. I'll try to get another pic tomorrow.20190101_215649.jpg20190101_215709.jpg

Same boat here. Want to paint but can't decide on color. I like the new gen 3 colors but wonder if they would look out of place on a 2nd gen. I've painted a few dozen cars and see the Taco as a really easy one. And I don't think it would cost a lot unless you want to waste money buying higher end paint. I believe that with the quality of materials these days, it's not that hard to do a surprisingly good job at a home garage, especially if using BC/CC.
