    Well keep in mind if you're cooking on the tail gate or you keep it down while your coolers are under it, it will be hard to access a hitch mounted bottle opener. Just food for thought. How about mounting one upside down on the lip of the tail gate, that way when it's down it's facing you and easy to use. The down side is it won't be hidden a may look strange not having a flat line on the tail gate when looking at it from the rear.

    and yes, there are a few companies already making what you're designing if you just want to buy one. They are pretty proud of their product though. $40

    haha I too have done this. I've learned most drinkers have similar ideas on how to make drinking easier haha.
