1st - I am a former jeep owner and now a gen 3 retired old guy who enjoys getting off road and camping away far away from all the rv people. In addition, I am a big fan of TW even if this site has cost me a lot of $ in mods.

I have recently meet a neighbor who has a gen 1 non op'd for years. It's a So California 96 sr5, 4x4 stick. He claims the t belt and w pump was done around 100k and currently shows 135k. Body and paint look great and no rust on frame (zero). It started up quickly with a jump, drove good, shifted into 4W fine and interior is clean. I expect to do battery, brakes, suspension, tires, tune up, all fluids and?

I am looking for advice on what it may be worth? Thanks for any comments/thoughts/advice!

Can you post more pics of under the truck and the interior?

    sorry didn't shoot those picts
    but frame is very clean
seats have had a cover on them and when looking under them was happy with what I saw (the pattern/design on the seats is very old school)
did not find frame replacement stickers - exhaust is rusted
original floor mats looked real good
power mirrors worked - mood roof worked

Offer him 6500 for it see what he says. He could wash it and probably get closer to 8k- that's a shot from the hip based off little information.

How much with the Honda 250x included? Looks like a nice clean truck from that photo and moon roofs are rare.

That's a fine looking taco:cool: you ask about it's worth, is that in reference to a price for you buying it off him?

i would put money on it being an AT since the drivers right hand is on the steering wheel
most likely i will be wrong about that but wait and see i guess

I know reading isn’t a thing anymore but the original post says 4x4 —>[[stick]]<—.

    It has a manual transmission.

I read that when toyota did the frame replacements on gen 1 they added stickers on both sides of the frame.... so I looked for stickers

Definitely offer him high book price and hope he doesn't bother to look at what local ones sell for there in land of ridiculous 1st gen Tacoma prices. :D
