Truck worth it?

    That's a 2003 double cab gray tacoma at a dealership it has 40,000 miles and they want 13,000 is that a deal ?

    Keep in mind that an old truck with low miles is still an old truck... There is a school of thought that a well maintained truck with 150k miles on it is a safer bet than a truck with extremely low miles.

    Rubber parts degrade with mileage AND time. They also need to be lubricated or they dry out.

    Things like the timing belt: factory says replace those every 90k miles OR 9 years (or something close to that).

    So there's probably a grand of "normal maintenance" that almost guaranteed hasn't been done on it.


    Also, 13k seems kinda steep for a pre-runner. That said, if you can get a good deal on it, it's relatively cheap to convert it to 4wd. Even just buying all the parts outright, you can easily get in under 2 grand for the conversion, and is bolt on for the most part.
