Hey I have had 3 4runners and recently totaled my beloved beauty by hitting a deer a few weeks ago. Now I am looking to get into a Tacoma. Of the 05-15 Tacomas, is there any that people recommend over another? If so, why? Your help would be appreciated. Thanks.

07 and up so you don’t have the head gasket leak.

I would say the newer model the better. Less issues or bugs as the years went by (in general). Depends on your budget though.

08 if there’s no rust. Fluids, brakes, ujoints, headlights, tire, battery and a little bit of suspension got it to 180k. Rust is only issue.

Love my 08 but I’m really fond of the 12-15 facelift. The newer guy go you start to get other options like Atrac if that’s important to you. Newer also means less wear and tear and mileage so there’s that. Depends on budget really

Have an 09'. Loving it. No major issues just regular maintenance. If you live in northern states or provinces the frames of taco's do tend to rust with the shit they use on the road in the winter time. I have a limited service campaign from Toyota to get the frame CRC (Corrosion Resistant Compound) Sprayed free of charge. This is for 2005-2010 taco's in my area. If you do buy one, check the frame condition and VIN on Toyota's website. Happy Shopping!
