What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Why not use a strip of 3 inch wide clear vynal, cost about 5 bucks.
By the time I make a mold, pour a casting and time, I would have to charge around 55 bucks and I dont think many would buy them, it would look like a factory piece though.

 

Perfect time to sound-deaden that back wall.

 

100% on the list of things to do. Need to get some good insulating sound deadener back there. It can only help when I replace the woofers and tweeters in the doors, and add a sub.

You're actually one of the reasons I even know about the MOLLE panel in the first place, your videos have helped give me ideas. I did a crazy amount of mods to my F-150 Lariat, and when I got rid of it, I got a base Tacoma so I could work from the ground up vs before.

Your first pic looks like you've got your Prinsu is loaded with black garbage bags.

 

2nd gen tailgates are complete crap. They bend and stay bent far too easily while the bed is being loaded. If a person isn't tender with the tailgate when closing the tailgate the tailgate will get dents like crazy from hands closing it around the handle. I might try making one for my truck out of steel that will solve all 2nd gen tailgate problems but I seriously doubt the end result will blend well (aesthetically not physically) with the existing sheetmetal. Obviously looks is a huge selling point for manufacturers and I just don't see people buying that product on a large scale even if it will allow them to treat a tailgate like a tailgate instead of treating it like a paper mache piece of art. I was also considering marketing polished SS bed bolts and washers, widened steel fenders, bumpers, a hitch that doesn't take away from entry/exit angles from stock, and a custom stereo bezel and appropriate brackets but apparently I just don't have the drive that I used to have.

 

Exactly. Perfect if a person is just trying to protect the paint.

I noticed you trimmed your front fenders and installed a trim piece on the edge of the cut. What did you use for that trim and how did you make sure it would stay attached? Thank you. Beautiful truck!
