Sorry, but no freaking clue what you are trying to get help with. You need to be more specific and break your request down.

    And welcome to TW

Okay, so nothing specific, your truck just isn’t a V8, half ton chassis. So yeah, as stated above, get a supercharger and HP Tuner, beef up your brakes, get a brake controller or, just get a full size truck. Just because something is rated to do it, doesn’t mean it will be fun or just like other trucks experiences rated at the same capacity.

The trailer is too heavy for your truck. I know because I had the same problem. Two options, get a bigger truck or a lighter RV. I took option three and sold the RV and bought a boat.

You could lower gear ratios in your front and rear axles which would bring the engines RPM's up which is where they make their power, or you could drive it in a lower transmission gear and achieve the same thing. A supercharger would add power throughout the RPM range.

Stopping a Tacoma with a 4,500 trailer attached to it with stock Tacoma brakes is sketchy at best, I've done it several times. The largest was 5,600 lbs and my truck and the trailer slid through a red light trying to stop. Lol.

Even if you bought a stock modern full size half ton truck I don't think you'd be happy with its performance either. Sure you'd get a bigger engine and bigger brakes but those things are supporting a bigger truck so all of those gains are not felt, especially pulling a 4,500 lb trailer. A 3/4 ton + is built to do what you want it to do, that's my best guess of what you're looking for.

Roughly 4500 lbs is the realistic limit for Tacoma's, but we really need a lot more info about your truck, what you tow, and where you tow.

The problem with 1/2 tons is that they are all over the place. You really have to pay attention to specs before buying one. Many of them won't tow any more weight than a Tacoma. On the other end of the spectrum some are rated to tow more than some 3/4 ton trucks, there is some overlap.

You'll see advertisements showing 1/2 tons getting 25 mpg, and you'll see ads showing them towing 13,000 lbs. They build trucks that will do both, but the same truck won't do both. But the majority will legitimately tow 5000-7000 lbs with ease. Around 8000-9000 lbs is where you need to start thinking about a 3/4 ton, but it is possible to get a 1/2 ton that will do it if you choose carefully. Once you get to 10,000 lbs you need a 3/4 ton regardless of what they claim.

Buy a smaller trailer, I tow this at 75mph and can pass 18 wheelers if needed.
