Well... I traded my 2015 Taco TRD Off-Road for a 2016 4Runner Trail. It wasn't an easy decision. However, I needed the extra seating room. A big thank you to all the members who have been so helpful and the numerous how-tos I have used since joining.

Now, I had to keep the SCS wheels and I think they may look better on the 4Runner than Taco.Yup.jpg

So, did you just swap wheels from T4R to Taco, and vice versa?

    Like, so many.
It's a good vehicle if you don't need a truck bed.

We were just discussing this in my build, in what way do feel there is more seating room? Did you get 3rd row? How do you think the back seat compares between the two?

Well, the entire cabin is taller than the Tacoma. So for the driver, your legs are more underneath you than in front of you. Somewhere between the Tundra and Tacoma driving position. I did not get the 3rd row, however, the back seats are easily 2x as large as the Tacoma. My 6ft+ friends can sit in the back easily where it was a major squeeze in my Tacoma.

The build quality of the 4Runner seems superior as well. The finishing are just another level of refined.

Not saying you are wrong, but here are the spec from the 2016 and 2004 4R and a 15 taco, .2" difference in rear leg room. My '04 has 2" more which is surprising.

The seat back in the DC Taco is more upright, which makes a difference. I traded my ‘15 Taco last year for a 4Runner and the back seat is definitely roomier, despite what the numbers say. I couldn’t comfortably sit behind myself in the Taco. I can in the 4Runner. Most of that is probably due to the seat back angle rather than the legroom specs.

For my family, the Taco was tight, the 4Runner is acceptable, the Tundra was a freaking mansion in the back.

You probably will use the cabin on the 4Runner than the bed of the truck.

My ‘13 Taco was totaled. I was debating on getting a 3rd gen Taco. Decided on a 2020 4Runner. The family loves the seats and leg room in the 4Runner. They hated the seats in the Taco. No regrets on the purchase but I miss the taco...

With my family growing, we added a new '19 4Runner to my '05 tacoma. The 4runner is a much better family car, and my wife likes driving it. I have been tempted to sell the tacoma and go back to one vehicle, but, shoot, after almost 15 years, I am really attached to my tacoma. The tacoma is not as refined as the 4runner, but I think it is more fun to drive. If I needed seating and had to choose between a new 4runner and tacoma, I would go with 4runner, no question. You made the right decision.

I think u did well my friend. It’s funny I have an 08 Tacoma and will likely get a new vehicle in the next 2 years and am pretty much set on the 4Runner TRD Pro. I have always loved them and as much as I love my taco and have made it my own since the beginning when it had 8 miles on it, I’ve always wanted a 4 runner. I think at the time I liked the look and idea of a truck but honestly I hardly ever use the bed of it and it’s harder to park. I’d love to have that back cargo of the 4Runner. I plan on keeping my taco when I buy new though. Congrats man it looks sweet! I love the tech in the T4Rs too. If only they would make the Pro in cement. I love that color but if not I’ll prob go with the dark gray.
