I don't tow either, but I don't do much Highway driving. They are surprisingly somewhat quiet considering how aggressive they look. Bonus (for me), is that they come with the 3 peak snow designation. Now I don't have to switch over tires twice a season. That was a must for me. Only regret is they dont come in a 255/80/16 or 85/16 pizza cutter size.

Great - thanks - looks like these will be the ones I'll get when my kevlar tires go in the next 5-7K miles; and for me that is not more than a month or so. I'll go with the stock size I'm sure - that seems fine.

My Wildpeaks suck because they have a shimmy despite being round, within specs, having been road forced balanced, and rebalanced multiple time, that will not go away. They shimmy more when cold and in warmer weather run better. The tread is not really self-clearing and fills with mud easily. The tires seem to wear quickly and they seem to puncture easily. All anecdotal of course, but I a m not a satisfied customer and apparently I am not alone.

    Like, so many.
I’ve used my NRGs in a wide variety of conditions and I'm still pleased with them.

I went with KO2s for the summer and Blizzaks for the winter. The KO2s have the mountain snowflake designation so they are technically a winter tire according to the regulatory defintion. But if you compare the amount of siping it's clear that the Blizzaks are going to stop the truck way faster on ice. I want the best chance I can get and I don't think I'm going to pay a lot more in the long run.

That said, I know a guy in Toronto who has had 5 Tacos with all kinds of tires and he keeps coming back to KO2s. He does not find it necessary to get dedicated winters. But then Toronto is the city that calls in the army when it snows, it is not the Ottawa valley for sure.

Living in Middle Tennessee I never see “real” snowfall. Locals think 1 inch of snow is a apocalyptic event and the city grinds to a halt. I drive my old Chevy S10 when it snows because of 2 reasons. It keeps salt off of my Tacoma , and because my S10 is a mini tank. If someone hits my S10 because they are incapable of driving in snow I just kick the dent out and could care less. It’s my urban assault vehicle of choice. It snows so little here that I saw a Ferrari out in a 4 inch snow we got several years ago. LOLOL It was probably all the guy had to drive to work.

Toyo AT's here and they are pretty good, but a little loud. Mine are load range C. They got us through George Washington NF (flagpole) immediately after a very bad storm (we were cutting monster trees out of the road pretty often), Cherokee NF, all over The Golden Road and the surprise springtime quicksand that comes with it, and Vermont. I'd complain about how they weren't as quiet as the stockers on the highway, but it was worth it while exploring side roads in ME and suddenly sinking up to the hubs.

I had those on a Superduty it’s a solid tire overall. Using a 1-5 scale I’d rate em as follows
    Mud 1
    Snow 3
    Ice 4
    Rain 3
    Looks 1
Smooth ride on roads is a big plus but they are heavy, only reason I don’t buy them anymore is price it’d be over 2k for a set in the size I run.

    Some Serious Tires
Had pirellis ATR on my previous truck and what a shitty tire that was. Sucked in rain, mud and snow. It shouldnt be called AT tire, its more for highway. The only good thing about that tire was it lasted forever, longer than any tire ive had.

ATRs look cool, but i wouldnt recommend to anyone.

Second pic, pulling my buddys taco :)

Toyo MT all day. The Toyos have treated me well. Between the last 4 sets on my 3/4ton, 2 sets on on my old one 1ton and this set on my Tacoma.BF27A521-50CB-46E5-BB8E-D5B860003DDF.jpgB0A3EDC0-6B10-440E-B230-5AAE4E1F45F7.jpg These replaced the KO2s I had they just didn’t like up to the KO name. Disappointed.

Same here, if they came in 255 I’d be buying them to replace my stocks when the time came.
