Dual Exhaust

I'm looking into putting a dual exhaust on my truck (DCSB 4.0 Prerunner) and have my eyes set on the Flowmaster American Thunder

I am not looking for an obnoxiously loud ricer sounding exhaust, just like the look of the dual pipes and wouldn't mind a more deep and relatively loud set up.
If anyone has any other recommendations or reviews on the Flowmaster above feel free to share your opinions.

I originally had this dual exhaust (Flowmaster).

I swapped out the muffler section for a straight thru muffler because I went supercharged. I believe the FM muffler is a chambered Super50. It didnt sound half bad with the Super50.

I went with a larger Wicked Flow single inlet/dual outlet muffler and WF tips. I recall that i wasnt impressed by the small diameter Flowmaster tips.

Essentially, all i have of this American Thunder system is just the pipes.

 

Put in the exhaust today. Was pretty easy install, just unbolted the oem system. hardest part was pulling it out of the rubber hangers. pretty easy to throw flowmasters in too. sound is deep but not obnoxiously loud. had a shop weld everything after for 140.

I`ve had a flowmaster 50 single in dual out with pipes out the sides like that for years.
That`s cool they make it in a kit now.
I had a local shop do it, the guy does awesome work.

Love the tone with the trd intake.

 

Great to hear you got what you wanted. Let us all know if there is any improvement on gas milage and or performance.

 

I dont know about c808 but I can't keep my foot out of it so Im sure gas mileage has suffered.

As far as performance it's everything I hoped for.
Nice deep tone, not obnoxioisly loud, awesome growl at idle and when going uphill.
Torquey on the low end, balls out wot...

I still pause the tunes sometimes so I can listen to the sweet music my truck is making, especially in the woods.

Yeah didn’t do a full write up since i just installed but last night was the first time my truck has seen rpms of above 4000 haha. Gas mileage is definitely going to go down this tank until i get used to it. Going through a tunnel last night I felt like a ricer the way i stepped on the gas lol.
Only downside to this kit is that the pipes get extremely close to the leafs. May be because i have all pro expos and am lifted but not sure how much better itd be on a stock truck.
For $560 with free shipping id say it’s a very worthwhile purchase if you’re looking for something easy diy and don’t want to get a custom setup. Will post some photos later

Man I wish I had a tunnel except Id probably be stuck for hours going back and forth thru it haha!

Closest I have are bridges w/guardrails and tree surrounded roads in the mtns.

 

Sounds like 20 smiles to the gallon for sure....I'm envious. For sure...show us the set up with pictures!

My new shop just put these in for me (Flowmaster 817719 American Thunder Exhaust Kit) and a set of 1.25 spacers. Truck was silent before (too me) - now it's awake. I started it up and a grin was instantly on my face. Money well spent IMHO.
