I currently own a 2013 Tacoma 4x4 but I always wanted to own a late 1st gen, especially 2001-2004 models. What advice can you guys give when looking for one? Anything to avoid or look for? I prefer 4cyl auto or manual. I saw this Tacoma priced at $7500 - what do you guys think? Thanks!

If you want 4 cyl don't get automatic. AT will eat all the power from that little engine. MT with 4cyl is the best combination.

True that. As an owner of a ‘04 2.7 AT, I can attest you will not get any hole-shots when the stoplight changes. But given enough runway I can toodle along at 80-ish without any issues.

Is this going to be a project??

Plan to sell the 2013 ??

Just watch for Trucks that have moved to Texas from Winter Chemical States this can be a issue people forget about when shopping down south.

Every week it seems we read about another person never hearing about the frame problems till after the fact.
