265s are better for snow and mudding I mean 285 is mostly for looks

There's not enough bandwidth for what's happening.
    Yes.

Once Toyo's backorder in this size gets filled, that's what is going on my truck. I LOVE the looks of 255 85's on Tacomas. Pics don't do it justice. You have to see it in person. 285's aren't for me ... don't see the advantage either aesthetically or functionally. I have 265 / 75 / 16 Duratracs and wish I went to the 255's in the first place. However, I would keep the 265's before going to a 285.

Sounds like pretty sound logic to me.

Matter of Fact, how about posting a few pictures of these 255/85/16'?
Today is the first day I've really heard much about them...

They are an interesting choice, could see going that way, not sure how they price out in comparison to the 265s.

Anyone have a 3rd gen with lift and 265's on ?
Seems like everyone is doing 285's with lift on the new generation tacomas

What were the dimensions of your rim in these pictures where you had the 265s? I am trying to figure out the dimensions I need so I know what to order! I like how your tires came out a little past the fenders of your truck !

I recently did around 3 inches on a 3rd gen with 265/75/16. Going to wait on settle and play it by year. 255/85/16 seem like the functional choice.

In person the 265s don’t look good or bad. Tires are toyo at

That looks good! I wonder if you had done a more aggressive 265/75 would it fill in the space better? My truck is fully stock and I have 265/70/16 Duratracs and they just look big due to how much more aggressive the side wall is!

285’s will rub and/or completely throw off the ride. Just went to 265 and the ride is 1000% improved.
