    Hi Folks,

I'm changing to a net tailgate so I want to install a rear camera in this perfectly-placed factory hole above the bumper. I did a quick search to see if somebody makes an aftermarket cam that fits in here and snaps right into the factory plug right behind it but I'm not finding anything. Seems like something that should exist/be super easy to do.

I'm don't really want to remove the factory cam from the tailgate because I will be swapping the gates on/off pretty regularly. Ideally I'd like to keep a cam mounted in that bumper hole and just attach whichever cam I want to use on the fly.

    Any ideas??

Do you mean the hole directly above the plate?

Which would not be a good idea to plug with a camera.

Yes - I would attach with some kind of quick mounting option so I could just pop it in or out .. maybe Velcro or zip ties or something in that nature.

On my '07, I actually mounted my camera behind the license plate. I drilled a hole in the plate for the camera to look through.

Honestly I guess it doesn't have to go there... Just seemed like a good spot. Could easily put it somewhere else. Just wondering if anybody out there has looked into this at all and know of an easily connectable aftermarket camera or something that uses the factory plug in.

Yeah that would work if the connector can utilize the factory plug under the bumper... Im looking for a cam setup that somebody can confirm works w factory plug in so I can easily swap.
