I’ve got a 2017 and have the Pop & Lock. I noticed last winter that the tailgate wouldn’t unlock with the remote, but would manually. I lubed it up and started working again. I just got home from a long, salty 800 mile round trip to Grand Rapids, from the UP, and it does it again.

Has anyone else had experience with this? Is there a better way to ensure it doesn’t continue to happen (thoughts, ideas, etc)? Thank you!

Which pop and lock do you have?

I have the same model. I've read in multiple places that they simply wear out over time since they aren't "contained" in the tailgate.

What do you mean with not being "contained"in the tailgate?

The basic installation just had you attach it via some bolts. It’s fully exposed to anything that can get in the tailgate frame - dust, water, etc. There’s nothing to protect it from the elements.

Now I understand. Thanks! I'm going to pull it apart and see if there is gunk stuck in it and try and clean what I can to see if that works.

Definitely circle back and give us an update. I’m curious if that works
