I hadn’t heard of Focal before you mentioned them but did some research on them after you did and they seem like a great option. I was looking at Polk and some of the nicer Infinity speakers. The problem I have with the real well known brands is they make some really good stuff but also some really cheap crap. I don’t mind inexpensive but don’t know enough to delineate inexpensive (good deal) and cheap. I’ll likely end up going with the Focals if I pull the trigger this weekend / Monday. Good recommendation

I ordered the fronts for 140 from your link. I think my mother in law is ordering the rears for me for xmas. Just getting 140 focal 165 2way set. Once these are installed we'll see if I want to jam a sub in somewhere. Probably won't install until spring

Ah, okay. I watched a video recently that showed the Tahara plant that produces 4Runners, Land Cruisers and a couple Lexus models, and there were no FJs there, so that makes sense!

I had the PS in my F-150 they rock. I loved them, wayyyyy better than the shit alpine puts out thats currently in my truck.


Just put a set of 4inch focal in my tractor, those things are crisp and clear and put out surprisingly good mid-bass for their size.

 

I have a 2010 and I made my own Tweeter mounts using a $3 plastic cutting board and a hole saw...Works perfect. I have an album that shows how to do the crossovers etc...full install. You are going to need an amp if you upgrade the speakers. I installed the previous version of this amp

Above the glove box, zip tied to the metal supports. It wires right into the existing wiring. I bridged it because I only needed 2 channels. It was a massive upgrade. I already have an after market head untit. I did a before and after comparison and basically pre-amp speakers on vol 35 equals about 8 with the amp. You're going to be missing 90% of what those focals can do if you don't have an amp. If you hook them up to a standard radio they'll be starving for watts and get distorted if you add any volume.
