This is the plan. Kind of hate to cut up something that is brand new. This is a design fail that they need to address.

Hardly a design fail as the shell was never factored in. A little grinding and it should clear just fine.

We'll have to agree to disagree. Many with a shell are limited to here or ditch light brackets. The bracket rises in height after it passes through the tailgate. If it were flat, it would likely sit below the cap. If it weren't designed to hug the body so closely, it would also clear the cap.

Maybe design flaws isn't the right term. Still though, it should have been designed to be more universal and/or work with a cap.

I suppose two versions would be ideal. One standard and the other extended. The market is ever evolving as i’m seeing more Tacoma owners running various racks/shells setups.

Grind or cut 1/4in off the edge that the shell is touching, alittle black paint on the raw edge, bingo bongo done.
I would rather modify a new part to fit than have a new part sit on the bench, just sayin.

LED bulbs broadcast light outside the focal area of the reflector. It causes the light to scatter. This is what causes them to appear “brighter” but in essence it is just scattering the light. It results in blinding oncoming traffic yet no greater amount of useable light for the driver.

Same problem here. Plus it also doesn't work with my Total Chaos bed stiffeners. Plan is to cut it down and add in a new piece of metal to use the first bolt hole and then weld it to the side of the bed stiffener. I cut it up, just haven't got to the welding in new metal part.

I recently upgraded my head unit also, just pulled it out to install the steering wheel control module maybe that's something you should think about when the radio is already out , I didn't think I would care for it, i was wrong

Yea, that's the Crux harness I bought with it. It also lets me keep the aux input.

2 versions isn't necessary. They advertise that they wanted it to hug the body for aesthetics. Even an eighth of an inch out would make it work with my ARE cap. I doubt other tops would stick out further.

When it would be so simple to make more universal... I'm sayin'...

    Sony over pioneer IMO

Replacing Alternator on Grandkids who live with us, 09 Venza V6. This is their school/work car. My sister gave to me for Their use. Nice car and royal pain in the Arse to work on. Had to remove fan shroud and a a bunch of wiring and plastic. Now to go through fender to release belt tensioner and then get the alternator its out. Might as wee replace the serpentine belt and radiator hoses now. You have remorse fans/shroud to get enough room to get alternator out. Revenge for losing WWII.
