Help me decide on a tire. Specifically size vs load rating as well as performance. 255/80R17s seem to all be offered in an E1 load rating. I was thinking this may ride a little harsh. That being said, if I don’t go that route I would go for 265/70R17 since I don’t have any lift and no immediate plans to add one. This size offers more options. I’m probably between a KO2 and Ridge Grappler for the tires. Being in the south I’m sure either would be fine for the amount of snow we get, but the ice... I know nothing is great on ice, but couldn’t have asked for more than I got from the Duratraks I had on my Jeep. I would definitely go with them again, but they aren’t offered on either size. How about other road conditions and off road? So... Let me know your thoughts on size, load rating , and performance.

No reason not to go with 265s. My truck originally came with 245/75/16 KO2s in a load rated E. Got 20k out of them (rotating every 5k), road extremely rough because of the E load rating, expensive, and got no traction in the rain. They looked really good though. On Wildpeaks right now and they're performing great. Pretty sure you can get duratracs in a 265/70/17 though?

KO2s are better on ice than ridge grapplers. I would 100% run Ridge Grapplers if I could, they are a bad ass tire.

You can split the difference and go with 255/75R17, available in light weight C-load for KO2s. However if staying stock height 265s would be best, also available in C-load in KO2s.

    255/75R17 on 2.25”F and 2.0”R lift.

They may be available, but they don’t show up on Discount Tire’s website. Didn’t think to look at Goodyear’s site to verify. I’ll double check there. I’ll have to admit a great deal of this decision is based on looks. That’s why I’m trying to squeeze on a 33, even if it is a skinny. Thanks for the input.

Ended up with TRD Pro 4 runner wheels. I know it’s been done to death, but it really is my favorite look. Wrapped them with BFG KO2 265/70/17 in a C load rating. Thanks for all the input. I’ll post some pics when I can get a chance. Started raining about time I got out of Discount Tire and didn’t feel like standing in the rain taking pictures.
