I made a backseat dometic fridge mount for a 50L today with a buddy. Still needs carpet and some straps, but it ended up fitting perfectly. It also uses the factory seat mounts so it folds up and out of the way.

I’m 5’10 so I can fit a 50L behind me just fine. If you’re taller you may need a 40L so the seat would go back further.

If anyone is interested, I can probably make some more on a router.

See somewhere below for more build information.

Nice! Do you use a separate power supply or run it from the 12V?

Just off the regular 12V for now. I was gonna just get a goal zero, but now I’m thinking about just doing a dual battery solution from Off the grid.

I'd buy something like this in a heartbeat for Access Cab, if someone made a metal framed one, with a drawer platform for the fridge on one side and storage drawers or on the other side. It would be the perfect use for the useless seating area back there.

I just bought a Dometic with plans to do the exact same thing!

Do you have a drawing of the dimensions you used?

I’m heading out to Utah this weekend, but when I get back I will get you guys measurements. I promise! Also, here is a horrible picture of how perfect the dometic plb40 fits.

Thanks for the follow-up. I look forward to seeing dimensions and maybe you can include the hardware you used. Enjoy Utah!

I run my ARB50qt this way. in my dcsb. I fold the seat down and removed the folded up seat bottom .
run it off a hot always wire strait from underhood fuse block. have ran in overnight multiple times on stock battery. no problems. but have not ran it with the truck off more than 12 hours. with my set up the lid does not open all the way. but is easy enough to get stuff while driving or stopped . OP set up is prolly better

I’m a short ass so I was able to fit my 75 behind me... had to move the seat up about 2 clicks but still comfortable.

Long awaited, her are measurements from the current shelf. I made it so you could quickly take it out and put the factory seat back if in a pinch if I needed all my seats. Many other options are semi-permanent. This is two bolts and you are good to go.

The folding leg is connected to the main shelf with a 9" long piano hinge. I forget the size, but it fit on 3/4" plywood. It was spare from my drawer system. I used 3/4" plywood since I had it sitting in the garage, I would not go any thicker.

The whole shelf was cut to 31" x 20", the corners where it mounted are rounded quite significantly to fit into the stock seats. That part will have to be custom. The bolts are metric and there are t-nuts hammered into the wood, I forget the size of both (Just bring the stock bolts into the hardware store and find something around that size.) I would just mark the holes with a sharpie instead of using my measurements.

At one corner, you will have to cut a diagonal at the 22.5" length and 17" width, this will allow it to fold up and clear the c-pillar.

    Folding Leg: 9.25" x 15.5"

You should be able to make it a few inches shorter than mine, I could've cut 3" off and would've had enough room for the cooler. But I needed some space for the battery underneath.

    qty. 1 - 48x48" 3/4" Baltic birch
    qty. 1 - 9" piano hinge (1-1/2" is fine)
    qty. 2 - m8 t-nuts (I think, double check this)
qty. 2 - m8-1.25x20mm bolts (I think, double check this)
qty. 1 - PRC Marine Upholstery Durable Un-Backed Automotive Trim Carpet 72" x 36" Mini Roll
    qty. 1 - Super 77 spray adhesive

Feel free to ask me if you have any questions.
