Hey PNW people. I’ll be heading up the California/Oregon coast on my way to visit family over the holidays and was wondering if anyone could suggest a good place to stop for the night. I’ll be sleeping in the truck so I don’t need anything too fancy and I don’t mind paying but would prefer dispersed. I’ll probably hit southern Oregon around dark.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Enjoy your trip! The Oregon Coast is an awesome drive!

IIRC there are campgrounds all up and down the coast.

The southern part of the Oregon coast doesn’t get too cold even if the current storm is hitting there. Iirc the locals call that area the banana belt because it is relatively warm there.

Bullards is a nice campground, the spaces aren’t real private, but there is a lighthouse near by and it’s just north of Bandon.

We really liked Patrick’s Point CG In california as well. Pretty sunsets and a really cool walking trail onto a big rock outlook.

mad you head further north, there are a ton of coastal CGs on 101. Don’t forget to watch the east side of 101 for state campground signs, they’re everywhere and there are plenty of pull outs on the gravel roads for Bush camp spots as well.

    Have fun!
