Thinking of taking the Taco on a trip to Colorado springs for the first time with the wife. Never been to the state!

How scenic is the drive? It is better to go during the warm pr winter time?

    Thanks!

I’ve made the drive from SA to Estes Park. Plenty to see on the way there. What route are you planning on taking?

Great to visit, not to live! Come during the spring after the snow, but before the car-totaling hail storms of the summer. It’s a short window.

You could through Lubbock and Amarillo, stop and see Palo Duron Canyon SP, then cut thru the corner of NM, stop at the Royal Gorge Bridge area it’s cool. Then to CS. Not major hwy the whole way.

All the fun stuff is west of Colorado Springs on the other side of the mountains. Great sand dunes and black canyon are definitely worth checking out.

September / October is the perfect time to be in Colorado as the summer tourists have left and the snow is melted at elevation so you can do pretty much anything.
