So, I am getting everything done on my '55 Ford 640 tractor for getting it put to work. Want to make sure everything is good so I dont end up 1 1/2hr away from a shop/store with a broke down tractor.
Saw that the belt was peeling, so decided to change it. One problem. Whoever installed the FEL (front end loader) made it physically impossible to change the fan belt. The pivot pin that the the front end rides on is pressed up against the yoke for the hydraulic pump driveshaft and the FEL blocks the pin from being removed.
Thinking I will V cut the FEL bracket to gain the ability to pull the pivot pin. Then, i will remove the pin and cut it down enough to get the belt past the yoke. Will still require me to pull the pump and driveshaft off, but atleast I wont need to pull the FEL completely off to do it.

Got the front bracket cut out of the way to allow the pivot pin to be removed.

Pivot pin was worn from the yoke rubbing on it. I ended up cutting 7/16" off the end of the pivot pin. I decided to replace the yoke, driveshaft, and flex joint for the pump since they were very worn.

Little update. New parts work well after a little grinder work.
