8 Gang Switch Panel - Auxbeam/Amazon

Looking for feedback on these simple versions of Switch-Pros / sPOD 8 gang switch panels.

I know how awesome the fancy ones are but I am not in need of them. I simply want to have an organized engine bay and a simple switch panel. I currently have a single light bar. Looking to add some more lights very soon.

I have seen very few video reviews and am wanting to hear more. Help me out if you have one!

 

I am also looking to hear about others experience with these.

Seems like a decent option.

I ended up getting one on Amazon!

I decided to fab up a panel to place everything on since having a manual, there is nowhere to use the included mount.

Here is everything installed inside the truck.
I bolted the Switch Board to the headliner. I ran the 2 wires through the pillar down into the engine bay. 1 wire is for running the Switch Board, the other wire is for dimming the Switch Board. The dimmer is a momentary push button. The mount that the 8 gang Switch Board attaches to was included in the package. But I did make the mount for the push button.









Here is the Switch Board when the ignition is on. Keep in mind I don't have any of the sticker/labels on, so the lights won't be as bright. There are 5 brightness levels.

I needed to buy/add some items that weren't included in the AUX controller package. I can't complain with the price of the controller.

Here are the items I added/needed:
- momentary push button
- 18 AWG wire
- shrink tubes
- shelf-soldering shrink tubes
- terminal connectors

Overall I am very satisfied with the product. The instructions that came with the package is useless, therefore you need to have some slight knowledge in automotive wiring. I am a rookie at this and I did just fine. The price is much cheaper than something like Switch-Pros or sPOD. Yes this system is not as fancy but it works for me.

I can't wait to wire up some lights and accessories to this system!

Why did you need a momentary switch?

 

So I can dim the panel from inside the cab.
To dim the panel you need to touch the white wire to a load.

 

Full disclosure, I'm an electrical idiot.

Dont you just tap a fuse that's activated when the headlights are on? You would only need to dim panel when it's dark. Right?

What are your thoughts of this, now that you've had it for a couple months?

 

I was going to run the white wire to one of the on/off switches I'm no longer using. Does an On/Off switch work or do you need a different kind of switch?

I was also thinking about putting tint on the panel before I put the stickers on and just running it without the white wire. What are your thoughts?

 

I was an electrical idiot too! I just researched a lot and asked a million questions.
I tapped into the "ACC" fuse in the interior fuse panel. When the ignition is turned on, the switch board turns on too. As you can see in my pictures I do not have any stickers/labels on the switch board yet. I keep it on the dimmest setting for right now. Once I install some stickers, the lights won't be as bright.

I only installed this a week ago. So far I love it!

 

Running the white wire to one of the on/off switches might work! You would need to turn on then off the designated switch multiple times until you get the brightness you want. I think it would work. Wouldn't hurt to try lol

The brightness level is "saved" when I turn my truck on and off. So you could just leave the wire in the engine bay, set the brightness once, and there you go. Then if for some reason the brightness changes, tap the wire on a positive wire and change the brightness.

FYI the "lowest brightness" picture I have is actually not the lowest. The lowest is barely visible!

 

Looks like it works pretty good, and a nice clean install. I like the switches to be very dim in my vehicles. I like the lights to be on the outside and not in my eyes

If you want to have control over the brightness you need a dimmer switch.

The box inside the engine is already broken down by max fuse type so it limits the way you can order the switches. In reality though those are just place holders and I think (I dunno) you can put anything in the slots so long as the fuse is rated. I didn't want to risk it though.
The sticker selection could be better.

I got the kit for under $50 which is amazing. It was open box and never used.

 

I don't see why you can't move the fuses around. I would re-label the green part for safety though. The system is not "smart" or anything so why couldn't you move the switch around?

$50 is an amazing price!

 

Dang 50 bucks. I would use one too even though I have only one aux light in the truck bed.

 

Hunt around on eBay. I was sceptical but the build quality is really good and it does exactly what you want it to do.

Yes I think relabeling would be smart. You just never know. I was able to turn all of these on at the same time without blowing anything.
