Ok, I'm back, and with a purpose this time. Reread umpteen pages and couldn't find anything about what the difference is between the regular 3rd Gen Cabrack and the new T2/T3 Cabrack for the Pro's with the Desert Air Intake.

I ordered the Rack this past Monday. I suppose I'll have to drop Prinsu a line and ask. I didn't see any specific install guide on their website.

    Thanks.

Total shot in the dark guess, but from what I recall the TRD Pro intake uses the pre-tapped roof mount to secure the snorkel instead of drilling into the pillar by the windshield. So they're probably making some small difference to accommodate that.

    Exactly.

I contacted Prinsu asking for specific instructions because the version online is not. They said the T2/T3 made for the 2019 Pro just bolts to the snorkel where the existing bracket is already.

The snorkel wasn't a feature I needed but since it was on the model they transferred for me I didn't turn it down. It actually worked out though because Toyota was offering an additional $500. rebate on them at the time. Not to mention that since it's factory installed the fender now has the same paint treatment as the rest of the truck and falls under the 10 year 100 mile warr I got with the truck.

Is it a bit much as it is? Yeah, a little. Maybe even gaudy and/or obnoxious to some. It's not going to be everyone's cup of tea.

However, once I get the Prinsu on top, I plan on mounting the following (I have everything but the traction boards) which I think will take some of the attention away from the snorkel

    https://www.amazon.com/Apachee-Weat...eywords=apache+gun+case&qid=1575907914&sr=8-8

    https://www.amazon.com/CPOWACE-Recovery-Traction-Emergency-Trapped/dp/B07N2FCNXL

    https://www.amazon.com/ARB-Accessor...3SBM5BHHRDA&psc=1&refRID=FSQE9RM463SBM5BHHRDA

    https://www.auxbeam.com/catalog/product/view/id/308/s/zd000244/category/117/

I'm going to make the water port myself. Once I get everything else mounted and see how much roof I have left, then I will know how big it can be. If there's enough room I plan on using 6" dia. pvc, and hopefully be able to run two tubes side by side, 50" long.

I am also adding a black softopper I just bought so that will help as well. Then ultimately a bed rack but only over enough of the bed to allow me to collapse the top while keeping it tight to it. Then on that I will mount the solar setup, spork, axe, and hi-lift.

    Sorry, there I go again.......:blahblah:

    :D

Do not spend that money for those traction boards. Get these instead: https://www.ebay.com/itm/X-BULL-3GE...w-Mud-Track-Tire-Ladder-Red-4WD-/222352552148
For some reason the prices are always incredibly inflated on Amazon for X-bull.

Also you mentioned that Auxbeam 42" bar. Definitely report back when you get that thing on. I run a CaliRaised 42" single row, and kinda wish it had a bit more output. I have Auxbeam ditch lights and they've done very well so far.

For what it's worth, I've got a Plano 42" on my driver's side. X-bull boards on the passenger's side, and there's still enough room in the middle of the rack for another set of boards, another case, etc. You'll probably want to mount your awning on the same side as your traction boards since you probably won't need the 2 at the same time, so plan ahead like you're doing.

Wow! Thanks for the hook up on the boards West. A penny saved is a penny earned

Yeah, I'm going to see but I think I'm going to be forced to mount the awning on the drivers side. Only because on the passenger side the snorkel will force me to have it cantilevered off the back of the cab which would expose some of the front door if it was opened in the rain.

I would guess that while camping you would want to have your awning centered more to provide protection from rain when you have either of the doors open? This model canopy has a add on room option. You get screen and solid walls all in one zip on addition. I think it will make a nice airy day room during hot, buggy months, and comfortable wind break room in colder months. I have a 4 person Gazelle tent for sleeping, etc.

The awning might not look too bad cantilevered though with the Softopper deployed.

As far as the light bar is concerned. All my auxiliary lighting will be Auxbeam. There is a very detailed review in my signature. That speaks volumes for how I feel. I'll add to that by showing you two pics.

This was before my recent accident. Pay attention to the light bar mounted to that NFAB light bar mounting system. It is attached to the bumper support. You'll notice that it offers some protection.

    20190908_130920~2.jpg

Here's a photo after my accident. A older Mazda 5 turned left in front of me at an intersection. They were obviously not paying attention, had a flashing red and followed the minivan that was in front of them into the intersection. I was doing the speed limit, almost 50mph.

    20191015_171454(0)~2.jpg

    20191015_171603.jpg

You'd think that light bar would be toast. There is a hex head screwed on bezel around the perimeter of the lens. About 2" at the top and a ¹/4" of the side at the upper left hand corner is all that is missing.

My money, wisely spent is on Auxbeam.

Almost too much room to fill! 42” Plano looks small up there.

Test fitting the new Prototype Prinsu. This was my second time installing a Prinsu but its a little different than the first one I installed. :D:rofl:

Thanks, its getting there but long way to go. Having custom parts made takes as long as the real thing. Lol
