Owned since new its been a great truck no issues besides regular maint and alternator. Well maintained looks good still but- not sure If I'm going to need to replace transmission soon or if other components will start to go liketacoma.jpg head gaskets ect... Its the 2wd 6 ft bed TRD prerunner with tow package. Do oil changes every 5k conventional. Even with high mileage it still has decent resale and was thinking maybe sell it and put another 5k into something else or just drive it into oblivion?? Anyone out there with more miles that can give me some feedback. Thanks!

I would keep it. I have a 2009 DCLB sport prerunner with tow pkg and 190K and it's still going strong. Oil changes every 5K with conventional oil. In another 3 years I'll probably have close to 275K. Not worried about a major breakdown. Even in unlikely event engine or transmission dies, I'll replace and continue on. I figure I'm still money ahead.

The only truck I'll buy when mine gets to high milage is a 2015 taco.... or if I cant find an accesscab superwhite 6 speed, a 4runner as long as they still have the 4.0

I would keep it. My 08 has 160k on it and it runs great. I just had the transmission flushed by Toyota and the transmission shifts alot better. Feels like a new truck.
